The following has been sent by MA to all members on Monday, January 23, 2023.
MA wish to advise that rule 7.20.2 has been suspended in its entirety until such time appropriate wording suitable for each period machine is prepared.
This topic will be raised at the joint commission meeting to be held in late March, early April, with any determination then being made available online for members comments.
The view is to implement the revised wording in the 2024 MoMS.
The online version of the 2023 MoMS will be changed to reflect this bulletin.
The following is from previous correspondence in relation to rule 7.20.2, sent on Tuesday January 17, 2023, to those who had sent submissions for a revision of the rule.
For reference we do need to note that oil contamination of circuits (not all) will become more of an issue in the future, so we need to be mindful in coming up with some form of prevention. This applies to all classes, not just historic machines or sidecars.
Any feedback on how this could be achieved without causing issues such as those raised in your concerns would be greatly appreciated.
